ALL THE RAGE

"Scenes and Monologues for People with Issues"

Latest News

A collection of humourous one-man scenes and monologues about small problems and short tempers. Featuring an angry mob of characters: drivers, parents, hitmen, teachers, golf caddies, and more. Don't get mad... get tickets!

CONTENT ADVISORY: Some scenes contain mature subject matter and coarse language.

FROM THE PRESS RELEASE:

"ALL THE RAGE is mostly about the comedy found in anger. I had some new scenes written, and was looking through them for a common theme. All of my characters seemed to be angry about something, so I thought I would look at the different ways people get angry as well.

"Personally, I find angry people very funny. In the heat of the moment, they'll do and say anything. In real life that has negative effects, but for a writer it's very interesting to explore.

"Maybe it's stress, or frustration with the problems of modern life, but it seems to me that people are more likely to get angry now than they used to. Not that we're necessarily angrier in general, just more likely to overreact to little things, to go to that place more easily."

In ALL THE RAGE, Raitt focuses on these overreactions to little things. One scene features a golf caddie getting mad at a golfer for not taking his advice on club selection. In another, a driver arrested for road-rage-induced assault explains the bizarre circumstances that led to the incident. A third scene follows a parent trying to control his temper over the poor behaviour of his toddler.

Raitt says that the show's focus on small issues broadens its appeal. "There are a lot of current social issues that people are legitimately angry about, like war or climate change, but everyone has different beliefs, and they're on different sides. When someone is angry about a polarizing issue, they sometimes have difficulty seeing the comedy. So I deliberately stayed away from those topics. It's an evening of fun, escapist entertainment for everyone."
